Alabama 4 Hour 2018 IMC Course

This class covers every significant change made during the 2015-2018 code review cycle to 8 of the key chapters of the 2018 International Mechanical Code (IMC). Chapter 1 on Administration, Chapter 3 on General Regulations, Chapter 4 on Ventilation, Chapter 5 on Exhaust Systems are basic to all HVAC tasks. Chapter 6 on Duct Systems, Chapter 9 on Specific Appliances, Fireplaces, and Solid Fuel-Burning Equipment; Chapter 10 on Boilers, Water Heaters, and Pressure Vessels; and Chapter 11 on Refrigeration contain some of the most critical codes to safety as well as the most rapidly changing codes in the IMC. Together, these 8 chapters impact all HVAC and understanding the changes made to these chapters as well as the reasons behind those changes is critical.

Each change in this class is presented in a “cut-and-paste” format with any deletions and additions from the 2015 IMC clearly shown. Each change is then discussed for the reason it was made and how it impacts a working HVAC contractor or technician, based in part on the proceedings of the ICC Technical Committees.
