This course is a comprehensive continuing education course for electrical contractors in the State of Florida. Alarm System Agent and Fire Alarm System Agents will need to take the Alarm Electrical Contractor CE course.

This package will begin with a short introductory class on the updates to the National Electric Code (NEC), and then cover Chapters 1,2,3,8, and 9 of the NEC updates.

These classes are followed by a course on the NFPA 70E, which is the industry standard for safer conditions when working with electricity. Then, we'll get into workers' compensation, including a brief history and the basic requirements. Next is the prevention of false alarms, which explains the reasons for false alarms, the regulations for false alarms, and what can be done to mitigate false alarms.

Then we will move into business practices, and look at liens, and what the electrical contractor should know about them. To finish up the package, we'll examine laws and rules, starting with the regulations governing contractors, especially regarding unlicensed work. This section ends with updated regulations governing wind mitigation. The package will conclude with the updated 2017 Residential Advanced Building Code.

There are in-text questions to test your knowledge as you go.
