AYPO offers this 14-hour course for Florida plumbers who need to complete their CE requirements, but would like to learn something new as well!

This course will cover all of the required CE topics, as well as sustainable and green practices in the construction and plumbing industries. We’ll start with the major changes to Florida’s Residential Building Code, before we jump into some advanced business practices, including practices relating to the use of liens.

Then, we’ll cover some important regulations governing contractors and their work. This includes the problem of unlicensed work, as well as the Florida Homeowner’s Construction Recovery Fund. We’ll also review laws and building codes which cover wind mitigation requirements, before moving on the workers compensation requirements.

Construction safety techniques will be addressed as well, including an overview of OSHA requirements, common job hazards, and general safety practices in the construction industry.

Next, we’ll move on to sustainable and green practices, starting with photovoltaic systems. We’ll talk about how to use batteries and which types are appropriate, as well as configuration and integration of the system.

Last, we’ll look at rainwater harvesting systems, including the IPC codes which apply to these.
