In AYPO's 2-hour course, HVAC contractors will review the most significant changes to Chapters 9 through 11 of the Uniform Mechanical Code. In Chapter 9, we'll discuss the changes that affect the installation of specific appliances, types of gases used, flammable vapors, and the structural capacity of building utilizing gas appliances.

We'll take a look at Appendix B, which establishes the procedures to be followed when putting gas-run equipment into operation. It also emphasizes the importance of manufacturer instructions when installing automatic ignitions or protective devices.

Chapter 11 will address refrigeration and refrigerants, and the changes that have been made to the applicable requirements. This includes changes to port protections for refrigerants, requirements for refrigerant-vapor alarms, machinery room equipment and controls, and more.
