This two-hour course is designed to teach plumbers in Kentucky about on-the-job safety. The course covers many topics but breaks them up into the following segments:
Workplace safety
This segment covers general safety concerns for plumbers and OSHA’s role in protecting workers from harm.
Hazardous substances and environmental risks
Learn about the hazards and risks that plumbers can encounter including lead, asbestos, mold, industrial chemicals, and mercury.
Flammable or combustible materials
Understand substances and materials that are likely to catch fire. Additionally, explore fire protection and prevention standards.
Workplace hazards
Learn how to deal with health and safety risks that plumbers encounter at a worksite. These include sulfur dioxide and biohazards such as sewage and rodent infestations. The course also examines standards for respirators and respirator use.

Instructor Bio
Randy Drake is a licensed, master plumber with over 32 years' experience in the industry. He founded a plumbing business in 1993 which he successfully sold in 2013. He currently works for a plumbing company based in Traverse City, Michigan.
