This 15-hour course reviews key changes, additions, and reorganizations in the 2026 National Electrical Code (NEC), with specific emphasis on Massachusetts-adopted requirements. The course covers updates across all NEC chapters, including wiring methods, branch circuits, grounding and bonding, overcurrent protection, hazardous locations, emergency systems, EV supply equipment, photovoltaics, and energy management systems. Learners will also examine Massachusetts regulations contained in 237 CMR, including licensure without examination, business and license procedures, mandatory continuing education, required electrical education, and insurance requirements. Additional coverage includes Hot Works training, relevant provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 141, and Massachusetts amendments to the NEC found in 527 CMR 12.00, including amendments to Article 90 and Chapters 1 through 7.

Jerry Durham

Jerry previously served the state of North Carolina as a Level III electrical inspector and provided state-approved electrical training for electrical inspectors at both Alamance County and Guilford County (NC) Community Colleges. Jerry taught the Kentucky state-approved four-year electrical apprenticeship programs offered by the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) Trade School and Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Trade School, and served the state of Kentucky as a Master Electrician and Louisville Metro Code Enforcement Officer. Jerry is a Certified Distance Education Instructor (CDEI) and NCCER Core and Electrical Curriculum certified instructor. Jerry currently holds North Carolina and ICC electrical inspector accreditations and is recognized by the state of Washington as an approved electrical administrator.
