This course explains updated installation methods that electricians must use to pass both rough and final electrical inspections.
The Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction-approved course covers the updated 2023 NEC requirements for installing wiring on rooftops, above ceilings, and underground.
Also included are comprehensive code checklists that cover:
- Installing and grounding panelboards, services, and transformers
- Required steps to pass rough electrical inspections
- Required steps to pass final electrical inspections
Learning Objectives:
Montana electricians who complete this course will:
- Know how to install electrical systems using the 2023 NEC that will pass the underground, above ceiling, rooftop, service, panelboard, transformer, and rough and final electrical inspections
- Understand the installation codes electrical inspectors look for on jobsites
- Confidently respond to inspector requirements during all phases of a project
After each section of the course, students must answer a multiple-choice review question. To pass the course, students must complete all 50 of these questions with a total score of at least 70%. Additionally, students will not receive credit until they spend a minimum of 200 active minutes in the course (50-minute credit hours).
