Prior to renewal or reinstatement of a journeyman plumber certificate of competence, the applicant for renewal or reinstatement is required to complete a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of approved course work. The CID requires 8 hours of this course work to be on code changes. This class fulfills that requirement. No exam is required. This class is comprised of:

Module #2 Significant 2018-2021 Code Review Cycle Changes to the UPC - Chapters 1-11

Module #3 Significant 2018-2021 Code Review Cycle Changes to the UPC - Chapters 12-17

These modules look at every significant change to the Uniform Plumbing Code made during the 2018-2021 code review cycle, including a discussion of the meaning of each revision involving:

  • 15 significant new or revised definitions;
  • Changes to Chapter (General Regulations), including Minimum Standards; Alternate Materials & Methods, and Dead Legs;
  • Changes to Chapter 4 (Fixtures & Fittings), including Hot Water Temperature in Public Lavatories, Gang Showers, Finished Curbs or Thresholds, Limitation of Water Temperature in Bidets, and Low-Pressure Water Dispensers;
  • Changes to Chapter 5 (Water Heaters), including Seismic Provisions, Minimum Safe Venting of Appliances, Special Gas Vents, and the New Table 509.8.2 Through-the-Wall Direct-Vent Termination Clearances
