Revisions introduced in Chapters 1 through 4 of the 2026 National Electrical Code (NEC) are covered throughout this 8-hour program.
Participants will examine updated code organization, revised definitions, installation standards, load calculations, and protection methods affecting common residential and commercial systems.
The lesson plan addresses:
- Article 90 organization and revised Article 100 terminology
- Equipment marking, reconditioned equipment provisions, and working-space standards
- Branch-circuit, feeder, service, and EVSE load calculations
- Energy management systems and conductor identification rules
- GFCI, SPGFCI, AFCI, and GFPE protections across dwelling and non-dwelling occupancies
- Receptacle placement, lighting outlet standards, and branch-circuit load provisions
- Wiring methods, raceways, underground installations, and conductor protection methods
- Ampacity tables, conductor sizing, NM cable, PVC, LFMC, and raceway-supported enclosures
- Wiring devices, panelboards, switchboards, fixture wires, and appliance-related revisions
Students will understand how the latest code standards affect installation planning, system protection, and safety protocols, and be able to apply them in the field with confidence.
