This course explains updated installation methods based on the 2023 NEC that electricians must use to pass both rough and final jobsite inspections.
The course material, which is approved by the Division of Professional Licensing, covers updated code requirements for installing wiring underground, above ceilings, and on rooftops.
Also included are 2023 NEC checklists that go over:
- Required steps to pass rough electrical inspections
- Required steps to pass final electrical inspections
- Installing and grounding panelboards, services, and transformers
Learning Objectives:
Electricians in Utah who complete this course will:
- Know how to use 2023 NEC installation methods for electrical systems to pass rough and final electrical inspections, including underground, above ceiling, and rooftop wiring
- Understand the installation codes electrical inspectors look for on jobsites
- Know how to respond to inspector requirements during different phases of an installation project
- Know how to properly install and ground services, panelboards, and transformers
Each section within the course ends with a multiple-choice review question. To pass the course, students must answer all 50 questions with a total score of at least 70%. Additionally, students will only receive credit once they spend 200 active minutes in the course (50-minute credit hours).
