The 14 hours of this course will provide contractors in the State of Florida with continuing education training. This package is approved to fulfill conditions required to renew a contractor’s license.
To start, the course will review the updated state building codes.
Next, the course will discuss state regulations, starting with the Florida Construction Lien Law. This segment will also look at how contractors and their activities are governed. Finally, this segment will talk about wind mitigation and regulation of wind mitigation efforts.
After that, the course will examine job site safety. This segment covers both workers’ compensation and methods for maintaining safety during a project.
Then, the course will look at construction techniques. This segment begins by discussing masonry, including the laying of brick and block and the construction of brick and concrete walls. This segment examines the use of drywall. Lastly, this segment explores the construction of a building’s exterior shell.
