This course (ID# 0801486 and 0801560) is designed to provide contractors in the State of Florida who specialize in electrical work with 14 hours of continuing education content.

This course examines changes that were made to the National Electric Code (NEC).

The course discusses safety and worker protection. This segment will look at the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) Code 70E along with safety and health regulations for construction sites that were established by the Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA). This segment will also talk about workers’ compensation as it applies to contractors.

The course covers some business management related topics including professionalism and professional conduct and common contracts contractors will need to work with.

The course addresses some state regulations that affect contractors. This segment talks about the regulation of liens that are imposed on properties. This segment looks at the regulations that affect contractors and their activities. This segment also explores the state’s regulation of attempts to mitigate the effects of the wind.

The course examines some advanced building codes with special emphasis the codes that cover wooden and concrete wall construction and the installation of windows and doors.

Mike's relevant construction experience includes framing, concrete construction, foundations, and roofing. As the current owner and an approved lead instructor for At Your Pace Online, he teaches multiple courses pertaining to construction and business. With over fifteen years of experience in the industry, Mike combines his proven understanding of teaching online education with the practical and academic industry knowledge needed by our students, to allow them to complete their courses and get back to the job site.
