This is a 16 hour package for the Florida Contractors holding a Certificate of Competency in Miami-Dade County to renew their license, and was designed with the contractor in mind. The package begins with a review of Chapter 10 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, with topics such as insurance requirements, bidding on public projects, and debarment of contractors from County work. From there, the package continues with the updated 2017 Residential Advanced Building Code, which covers the significant changes, and the updates selected by the Florida Building Commission.

This class is followed by Florida Construction Lien Law, and then by both the Regulations Governing Contractors and the Regulations Governing Wind Mitigation. After that, the package will continue with courses that examine job safety. It begins with a Construction Safety course, which details construction safety and OSHA standards. This is followed by Workers’ Compensation, which covers topics like self insurance and enforcements.

Next is Photovoltaic Systems, which will explain the various components of a PV system, including the PV panels, batteries, and charge controllers. From there Rainwater Harvesting is examined, and will detail the components of a rainwater harvesting system, including a catchment area, water conveyance, storage tanks, and water treatment.
