This 7 hour course is specifically designed to meet the continuing education requirements for contractors whose license was issued more than one year but less than two years prior to August 31st.
This course begins with a look at Florida building codes, specifically the codes dealing with wooden and concrete wall construction.
Then, the course addresses the topic of construction liens and the provisions of the Construction Lien Law.
From there, the course examines some of the regulations that affect contractors. This segment includes a discussion of unlicensed work and registration of contracting businesses.
Next, the course will take on the topic of wind mitigation. This segment both addresses what wind mitigation is and explores the regulation of construction techniques used to mitigate wind gusts.
In the last segment, the course will cover safety. This segment contains a discussion of workers' compensation protection and an examination of job-site safety and the related OSHA regulations.
