As of June 2016, the state of Iowa adopted the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) for use in Iowa, with some amendments. While nearly the entire code was adopted, parts of Chapter 1 and Chapter 12 were amended.
In this course, we'll begin to review the code for the amendments made by Iowa, as well as the newest updates to the UPC. Significant changes that we'll cover include guidelines for pipe excavations, regulations for water temperatures in restrooms, bathtubs, and bidets, and more.
We'll also talk about the requirements for emergency eyewash and shower equipment, family and assisted-use toilets, drain lines, wet venting, and food waste disposers and dishwashers.
This class covers Chapters 1 through 5. AYPO's 2-hour Plumbing Code class for Iowa (Part 2) will cover the remaining chapters.
Note: This course expires on August 14, 2020. You must complete this course by August 14, 2020, to receive your CE credit.
