This course will look at Chapters 1-3 (Administration; Definitions; & General Regulations) and 8-15 (Chimneys and Vents; Specific Appliances; Boilers Water Heaters & Pressure Vessels; Refrigeration; Hydronic Piping; & Referenced Standards) by showing what language was removed or changed and what new language was added for the 2015 IMC with an explanation of why the code was changed or what the change was intended to accomplish as clarified by the Technical Committees. By the end of this course students will be able to better navigate the updated codes in the 2015 IMC, employ enhanced safety and energy efficiency strategies, respond to recent developments in refrigerants, hydronic, and geothermal heating systems, and understand the intent as well the specifics of the revisions made to the 2015 IMC, in order to better explain, supervise, and coordinate with building officials.

Dan Whaley, was trained in HVAC in the Air Force where he spent eight years after high school. His time in the Air Force gave him the opportunity to do everything from repairs of advanced systems to planning the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs that were used in over 250 facilities.Dan is currently a Lead Technician for a one million square foot, 300+ bed medical hospital.
