8 Hour Course
Approved By: Kentucky Division of Plumbing
AYPO offers this 8-hour course package to meet the CE requirements for Kentucky plumbers.
In the course, we’ll start with a review of the Plumbing Code of Kentucky, the administrative rules and statutes that govern the construction, installation, and alteration of plumbing. We’ll briefly review the regulations for licensing and the types of licenses, before we jump into the code.
Changes to the KSPC that we’ll review include regulations for waste pipe systems, house sewers, and medical gas piping installations.
We’ll also cover the 22 “basic principles” in the code which are intended to promote sanitary and safety principles for everyone’s benefit. Then, we’ll continue with revised rules for minimum fixture requirements, and specialized buildings such as dorms, workshops, swimming pool bath houses, food stores, restaurants, factories, and more.
Some specific fixtures we’ll discuss include fiberglass bathtubs, tub enclosures, and shower stalls. As we wrap up, we’ll talk about the increasing issue of water conservation and how to use water efficiently.
We’ll finish the course with a look at the International Energy Conservation Code and the different paths of compliance with this code.
