This 5-hour course will provide Michigan plumbers with a comprehensive overview of the updates to the Michigan Plumbing Code. We'll begin with a recap of the requirements and regulations for Michigan plumbers, and we'll talk a bit about the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).

Then, we'll get started looking at the laws and updates you'll need to know. This includes the Skilled Trades Regulation Act (Act 407 of 2016), the State Plumbing Act, and more.

In our discussion of the updates to the Michigan Commercial Plumbing Code, we'll discuss removed rules pertaining to vertical conductors, tempered water for public facilities, and sizing for secondary drains. Then we'll cover changes to the rules for sewer depth, discharge piping, backflow protection, water distribution systems, and more.

Changes to the Michigan Residential Plumbing Code Update affect areas including fire sprinkler systems, lead-free rules, permits and inspections, and how drainage systems are connected.

After we review all of the significant changes to the MPC, we'll conclude the course with a look at the standards that are referenced by the Code.
