This course is designed to fulfill the four hours of continuing education (CE) required for all Water Conditioning Masters and Journeymen in Minnesota (but is approved CE for all plumber license types).
The first half of the class covers every amendment incorporated into the 2020 Minnesota Plumbing Code, showing what is deleted, added, or changed from the model 2018 UPC.
The second half of the class explores the recent relevant changes made to five of the most critical Chapters in the 2020 Minnesota Plumbing Code:
- Chapter 3 (General Regulations)
- Chapter 6 (Water Supply and Distribution)
- Chapter 7 (Sanitary Drainage)
- Chapter 8 (Indirect Wastes)
- Chapter 9 (Vents)
- Chapter 10 (Traps and Interceptors)
Every significant change made during the 2012-2018 UPC code review cycle will be covered, including the reasons for each change as explained by the IAPMO Technical Committees, supplemented in some cases with information from the plumbing industry to help illustrate the effect of the change.

Instructor Bio

Chris D'Amato is the instructor and industry expert for Plumbing Trade Courses. With over 25 years experience, he has held a Journeyman Plumbing license since 2001 performing all aspects of plumbing in new construction, light commercial, remodels and service. Chris manages his own multifaceted plumbing shop coordinating a wide range of services from Property Management accounts to plumbing whole subdivisions and providing services to large living facilities for the the State of Oregon. In his tenure at AYPO he has helped thousands of plumbing licensees keep up with their continuing education requirements.
