We’ll kick off our course on Chapter 7 of the NEC by covering the code-wide changes you’ll need to know about, and introducing the Article 90 revision necessary to allow the provisions of other chapters to be followed clearly. We’ll also discuss the new articles added to the code for 2017.
Chapter 7 covers special conditions, where standard electrical systems may be used in emergency systems, remote-control situations, and a variety of other systems which are some of the most exciting aspect of the electrical industry. We’ll look at the new additions to Chapter 7 as well, including microgrid systems.
Afterwards, we’ll cover some important sections of Texas Administrative Code and state statutes. Finally, we’ll cover the NFPA 70E, and how it works alongside the NEC to outline safe work practices for electrical construction and maintenance.
