Utah 2015 IPC: UT Amendments Edition (2 Hours of Code)

AYPO offers this 2-hour course specifically to meet the needs of Utah plumbers, and cover the amendments made by the state board to the Code. This class is worth two hours of Core CE.

In the course, we'll cover the Utah Uniform Building Code, including the HERS Index for residential structures, and how the IPC works when integrated with other building codes. After that, we'll look at the most recent and significant changes to each Chapter in the IPC.

These changes affect topics such as maintenance of plumbing systems, alterations, additions and repairs to existing systems, as well as some of the definitions provided in the code.

We'll talk about the removal of the Gray Water amendment, as well as new additions regarding transfer fluids. The requirement for third-party certification of backflow prevention devices, and rodent- proofing meter boxes.

Other topics we'll cover include revisions to chapter 6, such as the removal of sections covering water sources and quality, which are replaced with an amendment governing sources of potable water in general.

To finish the class, we'll cover a number of plumbing regulations specific to Utah, such as the removal of the ban on rainwater harvesting.
