Iowa Plumbing Continuing Education
We are approved by the Iowa Plumbing & Mechanical Systems Board to offer continuing education.
Take the continuing education to renew your IA plumbers license today. All of our courses can be completed At Your Pace Online to help you meet the state's requirements to maintain your license. Once you finish your class you will have an official certificate of completion to save for your records, and we will report your course completion to the state for you.
Iowa 2 Hour 2019 Plumbing Code Course
This course counts for 2 hours of continuing education on Iowa's amendments to the 2018 Uniform Plumbing Code.
In the course, we'll also cover the significant changes made to the 2018 UPC. The course is split into two sections:
- Iowa Amendments to the UPC, and
- Significant Changes to the 2018 UPC.
Iowa 4 Hour Plumbing Discipline Course
Tradesmen operating in Iowa with single or multiple plumbing or mechanical licenses can satisfy 4 hours of continuing education on field discipline with this two-part course on
- Graywater and Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems and
- Common Problems in Plumbing.
Iowa 4 Hour 2019 Plumbing Code Course
This course counts for 4-hour credit on Iowa's amendments to the 2018 Uniform Plumbing Code.
In the course, we'll also cover the significant changes made to the 2018 UPC. The course is split into two sections:
- Iowa Amendments to the UPC, and
- Significant Changes to the 2018 UPC.
Iowa 4 Hr 2016 Plumbing Code Updates
This course is approved with the Iowa Plumbing and Mechanical Systems Board for four hours of continuing education devoted to the Iowa Plumbing Code, highlighting the changes made to the 2015 Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), the reasons the IAPMO Technical Committee made the changes, and the amendments to the UPC for Iowa.
This course covers:
- Iowa Amendments
- Significant Changes to the 2015 Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC)
CE Requirements to Renew an IA Plumbers License
- All Master and Journeyman plumbers are required to obtain continuing education as a condition of license renewal.
- Licensees with a single license must take 8 hours of CE prior to license renewal.
- 2 hours safety (Iowa Occupational Health & Safety)
- 2 hours code (applicable plumbing or mechanical code)
- 4 hours discipline (must be in current license discipline only)
- Anyone who holds any combination of Mechanical & Plumbing licenses must obtain 16 hours.
- 4 hours safety (Iowa Occupational Health & Safety)
- 2 hours mechanical code
- 2 hours plumbing code
- 8 hours discipline (must be in one or combination of disciplines)
- All license renewals must be completed by June 30th every 3 years.
- Only half of the total hours required can be completed online.
