MN 2 Hour 2020 NEC Chapter 1
This class will serve as a broad introduction to the changes made to the 2020 National Electrical Code® (NEC-2020). It includes
- a brisk discussion of the code review process,
- a detailed explanation of how the NEC is organized, and
- coverage of code-wide changes, new Articles for 2020, and the changes to Article 100 (Definitions) and Article 110 (Requirements for Electrical Installations).
MN 16 Hour 2020 NEC Package
This 16 hour package is designed to help you meet your continuing education requirements by covering changes made to the 2020 National Electrical Code. The courses in this package have been approved by the State of Minnesota and will count for a total of 16 electrical code credits. This course includes:
- Changes to 2020 NEC Chapters 1-5
- Changes to 2020 NEC Chapter 6
- Interactive review quizzes

MN 2 Hour 2020 NEC Chapter 3
This class presents every significant change made to Chapter 3 in the 2020 National Electrical Code® (NEC-2020). This is a critical Chapter, addressing the most central provisions of the NEC for safe and reliable wiring methods that affect almost every kind of electrical installation.
MN 2 Hour 2020 NEC Chapter 7
This 2 hour course is designed to help you meet your continuing education requirements by covering changes made to the 2020 National Electrical Code. The course has been approved by the State of Minnesota and will count for 2 electrical code credits. This course includes:

MN 8 Hour Code Change & Safety Training Course for PLTs
This 8 hour course is designed to help Power Limited Technicians meet their continuing education requirements. The course has been approved by the State of Minnesota and will count for 4 electrical code credits and 4 non-code credits. This course includes:

MN Electrician CE CATV Installation Practices (2 Hr)
This 2 hour course is specifically designed for Power Limited Technicians that work with the telecommunication infrastructure but is approved for ALL electricians in the state of Minnesota for 2 hours of continuing education. This course includes:

Minnesota 16 Hour Power Limited Technician Package

MN 3 Hour 2020 NEC Chapter 2
This course provides 3 hours of approved continuing education and covers every significant change made during the 2017-2020 NEC code review cycle to Chapter 2, "Wiring and Protection".
MN 3 Hour 2020 NEC Chapter 4
This course examines 38 significant changes to Chapter 4 [Equipment for General Use], one of the most useful Chapters in the 2020 NEC.
This Chapter covers safe and reliable installation of devices and components that are in daily use and contains some of the most regularly updated provisions in the NEC.
MN 12 Hour 2020 NEC Chapters 1-5
This 12 hour course is designed to help you meet your continuing education requirements by covering changes made to the 2020 National Electrical Code. The course has been approved by the State of Minnesota and will count for 12 electrical code credits. This course includes:

MN 6 Hour Rule & Law and Photovoltaics Course for PLTs
This 6 hour course is designed to help Power Limited Technicians meet their continuing education requirements. The course has been approved by the State of Minnesota and will count for 6 non-code credits. This course includes:

- PV Systems for PLTs

CE Requirements to Renew a MN Electrical License
- The following license types are required to complete 16 hours of continuing education every two years.
- Master A & B Electrician
- Journeyman A & B Electrician
- Maintenance Electrician
- Installer A & B Electrician
- Power Limited Technician
- The following license types are required to take 2 hours of continuing education annually.
- Unlicensed electrical
- Unlicensed power limited technician
- A portion of your CE hours must cover the NEC Code Updates. Depending on your license type you may also take hours in approved non-code courses. All Electrical Licensees can take all code courses to meet their CE hour requirements.

Instructor approval only recognizes that the person(s) named above has (have) met the minimum requirements for approval. The provider is responsible to ensure instructors have the appropriate expertise of the subject matter to be presented. Construction Code and Licensing Division (CCLD) staff randomly audit educational programs for compliance with Minnesota Rules 3800.3600 through 3800.3603 and may withdraw approval of programs that do not meet these requirements.
All program attendance and summary records must be submitted in a manner approved by CCLD. Note: All documentation must have a Minnesota Program ID number issued by CCLD in order for our office to expedite the paperwork (i.e. rosters and certificates). Licensees will only be given continuing education credit for the hours that are approved for this course. Partial credits cannot be awarded to those who attend part of the course.
The Department of Labor and Industry, CCLD allows registered sponsors of pre-qualified continuing education courses to electronically submit the attendance records for a CE course session directly to the department.
You will be required to enter the license number of each license holder who attended the continuing education course session. You will receive a confirmation email after you have successfully submitted the CE course attendance information.
You must submit a notification to our office of ALL future presentation dates, not less than 30 days in advance of the date the course is to be held. Sponsors have the ability to add, edit, and delete any future CE course sessions by providing their sponsor registration number, the course number, and the access code for the course. The course sessions for your approved courses can be maintained online.
