AYPO's 8-hour UMC review will provide you with half of your continuing education hours for renewal. In this course, we'll review the most recent and significant changes to the UMC for 2012.

We'll begin with a brief history of the UMC, before we start our review with Chapter 1. Chapter one is primarily concerned with the administration of the code as a regulatory tool, and addresses inspections and testing of equipment.

In Chapter 2, we'll look at the most important changes to the definitions contained in this chapter, before moving on to Chapter 3, which covers general requirements.

The following section will address Chapters 4 through 8, as well as Appendices A, F and G. These areas cover the topics of ventilation and exhaust systems, as well as duct systems, those utilizing combustion, and chimneys and vents.

Chapters 9 through 11 will cover situations where gas piping is used, as well as refrigeration devices and some other specific appliances. This includes a discussion of Appendices B and C.

The final section of the course will review Chapters 12 through 17, and Appendix E. These cover the areas of hydronics, venting, appropriate test pressures, cathodic protection requirements, and sustainable and green practices.
