Course material is based on the 2023 NEC and covers GFCI and AFCI protection requirements, lighting requirements, minimum branch circuit requirements, and more.
KY Project Management and Safety
This multi-trade course provides the 6 hours of approved continuing education required for license renewal. It is designed for all Kentucky electrical contractors, HVAC license holders and plumbers.
This course is approved for Contractor Electrician (CE) licensees. It will satisfy 6 hours of your continuing education requirements.
The course provides guidelines for project management applicable to most projects with focus towards the construction trades. Learn fundamentals to successfully complete all project requirements within the constraints of the contract. Both the tangible contractual requirements and the client expectations must be considered if we desire future work and good performance evaluations.
Also covered is important information from NFPA 70E which equips workers exposed to electrical hazards with knowledge needed to apply safety requirements. The course details the arrangement, scope, and purpose of 70E, as well as common terms and securing an electrically safe work condition.
KY Commercial and Industrial Wiring (2023 NEC)
In this course, electricians in Kentucky will learn about the latest commercial and industrial installation requirements. The lesson material is based on the 2023 NEC and covers overcurrent protection, switchboards and panelboards, branch circuits, industrial machinery, and more.

KY Installing Services (2023 NEC)
This online course instructs Kentucky electricians in all the facets of electrical service installation. Following the standards in the 2023 edition of the National Electrical Code, students will learn how to provide proper and sufficient electrical service to all kinds of residential and commercial buildings. Completion of this course is worth four credits of electrical continuing education.

CE Requirements for KY Electrical License Renewal
Kentucky Journeyman Electrical and Master Electrician License Requirements for Renewal
All individuals holding an Electrical License (EE or ME) are required to obtain 6 hours of continuing education on any of the following:
- Job safety;
- Codes related to the electrical industry; or
- Subject matter directly related to the electrical trade
Kentucky Electrical Contractor License Renewal
Contractor Electricians (CE) are required to obtain 6 hours in business or safety related courses. Our Contractor Electrician Courses have been designed with those requirements in mind!
If someone holds both an Electrical License and Contractor Electrician License, they will be expected to take a course for both licenses, 12 hours total.
State of Kentucky Electrical License Renewal Deadline
- Electricians must renew their license by the last day of their birth month, every year.
