Utah Electrical Safety (NFPA 70E 2021)

Utah Apprentice, Journeyman, and Master Electrician License Continuing Education Requirements for Renewal

Electrical Apprentices, Journeyman Electricians, and Master Electricians must obtain 16 hours of continuing education every 2 years.

  • 8 hours must be on National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • 4 hours must be on NFPA 70E
  • 4 hours can be on the NEC or other approved 'professional continuing education' topics

State of Utah Electrical License Renewal Deadline

  • Electricians are required to renew their licenses by November 30, every even-numbered year.
