This 11 hour course was designed with the student in mind, and will provide electrical contractors in Florida with the continuing education training they need to renew their license.

This package will begin with the history and basic requirements in Florida for Workers' Compensation. That leads into the next subject of electrical safety in the workplace, as outlined by OSHA and NFPA 70E. For the Business Practices hour, we'll focus on the legalities surrounding liens. Wind mitigation will be the subject of our Laws & Rules hour, with significant attention devoted to Florida building codes, before we move into the Technical portion of the package.

Part 1 of the Technical hours is about the 2020 Florida Building Code Residential updates. Next is 2017 changes to the NEC, but we'll only have time to cover the Introduction and Chapters 1-3, and 8 & 9. Effectively navigate the 2017 NEC. Calculate service loads, over-current protection, and required clearance for overhead service conductors using the latest rules and methods. Adopt the most up-to-date rules on buried conductors, branch circuits, lighting outlets, and receptacles. Utilize the safest wiring and installation methods for various systems, and reference tables in the Code.

Videos and images are utilized throughout the course to enhance learning. After each lesson, students will be asked a single question about the material to test comprehension. This package does NOT include false alarm prevention.
